The Coolest Cocktails for 2018

2018 has only just begun and we already need a cocktail. The government’s shut down, the media is crazy and it seems like we’re always at work. At least 2018 is sure to produce some pretty fire cocktails, though. If we’re gonna drown our sorrows, we are going to do so in style. But when we’re having fun, we wanna drink these classy cocktails. Choose Catering CC to provide your next catered event with award-winning food that will pair nicely with the boozy creations we mention here. Without further ado, here are Catering CC’s top picks for cocktails that are gonna blow up and rock 2018.

Daiquiris:

Well, were daiquiris ever really out? These tropical drinks always satisfy and remind us of the beach. It seems like more bars and restaurants than ever will now probably reignite this trend. Kara Newman, Spirits Contributing Editor at Wine Enthusiast says this of daiquiris, “In 2018 I want to drink more daiquiris, and other rum cocktails — well made daiquiris. It’s the most refreshing cocktail I know. I also want my drinks presented in Nick & Nora glasses…”

Aperitifs:

Aperitifs are fun and fuse well into the world of fine dining. They are a drink taken shortly before eating, to stimulate one’s appetite. But they can also get as fun and boozy as you want them to be. There are a variety of popular drinks that can be used as an aperitif, including: amari and bitters, sparkling wines and sour beers and vermouths and sherries. If you are particularly drawn to a specific one of these drinks, then 2018 is probably aperitif season for you too.

Bubbly:

Okay bubbly is an undeniably timeless tradition, but it’s taking off now more than ever. Everyone’s enjoying champagne and sparkling wine, from people at home to those in the restaurant world. Meaghan Dorman of Raines Law Room, said of her drink picks for 2018, “More champagne and bubbles of all kinds, to keep everyday a celebration! I’ve been keeping a bottle of Raventos Blanc de Nit, for a nice cava addition to that rare brunch or dinner when I’m at home.”

Cuddly Toy:

Okay this drink is pretty specific, but also rapidly gaining popularity. This delicious, forward-thinking drink includes Avon silver tequila, bitter bianco vermouth and one ice cube. Then this mixture is combined with spices and homemade banana bread syrup. This is a delicious drink especially for the wintertime. Though it doesn’t get too cold down in Florida, the drink will still warm you up in one quick sip.

Cocktail Robots:

Okay, this isn’t necessarily a drink, but it represents a major trend in bar/booze culture this year. Soon, robot bartenders could be taking your order, pouring the booze and mixing it and even sipping. Our question: can robots get drunk?

If any of these drinks strike your fancy, make sure to check them out in 2018. And if you have an event that you’d like spiced up with some drink and food trends, look no further than Catering CC, the best event catering in south Florida.
